I recently retired from the USPS as a result of COVID-19 after effects.
My computer experience comes form a career in the Navy which started back in the mid 70’s. I was trained in both electronics and programming some of the original transistor computers, the first ic computers up to some of the earlier mainframe computers; HP, Honeywell, and Digital Eq. Most of he operating systems and languages have long gone by the wayside. I retired from the Navy in the 90’s and went back to college with concentrations in computer science, horticulture and education. After which, I ended up becoming a long-haul trucker which culminated into working for the USPS as a Network Specialist.
I have 3 tegu’s, 2 of which were rescued from Florida 2 years ago. Their enclosures range from 10’x6’x5’ to 6’x4’x4’, are the main focus of this project; trying to keep their enclosures close to sub-tropical environment and UV light can be a challenge. At the same time expand the project to include 5 bee hives, plus an observation hive. These will only require a few sensors ( a couple of temp sensors, a humidity, a gas, audio input, relay for heat for the inside, temp and humidity for atmospheric conditions outside the hive.
